Peak

Peak Marcello is the son of two maverick mountain climbers, and has hopes of being one of the greatest himself, but it can be a little challenging when you live in New York City. A surprise visit from his legendary climbing father and a one-year banishment from the United States (for climbing skyscrapers) is all it takes to send Peak towards the climb of his life. As he is only 14, if he can make it to the top of Everest in five weeks, he will be famous. Although the plot is somewhat straightforward, the danger and excitement that Everest is known for is portrayed stunningly in the climbs that take him over crevasses that you can fall through for days, and a strict Chinese society that will stop at nothing to stop Peak. Roland Smith has created an intriguing tale that will appeal to not only climbers, but also anyone with interest in the deadly trek.
