After the discovery and advancements in his “jumping”abilities (teleporting to anywhere he has been to and can remember semi-vividly) Davy Rice (now working with the NSA) has now been captured by an unknown group of people. That don't want to kill him, hire him, or experiment on him. However, they are holding him captive and chained like a prisoner in solitary confinement. Meanwhile his wife Millie who was left trapped in the home they share because Davy had last left her there before leaving for a meeting with the NSA (more specifically Brian Cox). What happens when she attempts to leave the house leaves Millie confused and astonished“The first time was like this” (11). The book is very strong in providing multiple vantage points/views on different events throughout the story. The book lacks in providing sufficient action at least for me. However, the thought process and investigation Davy goes through is very detailed and complex. The setting goes from India, Australia, Ohio, Chicago, and the unknown location where Davy is being held prisoner. All the characters show some form of emotion whether its hatred, compassion, or just plain evil. Even though there are some slow parts over all the book will appeal to sci-fi or realistic fiction fan
