The story I read for outside reading was
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis.
This story was about a girl named Lucy who found a wardrobe and told her two brothers Peter and Edmund and her sister Susan. Then, Edmund saw the Queen of Narnia. Everybody called her a witch though.
Edmund then had to bring his other siblings to the witch, because then Edmund would get more Turkish delight.
His siblings met a beaver and the witch and Edmund told the witch that the kids were in a cottage with beavers and then the witch locked Edmund in her prison.
Edmund’s siblings went to the King of Narnia Aslan, the lion.
Aslan helped Peter, Lucy, and Susan and then they freed Edmund from the witch’s prison.
I thought this book was very good because the characters were very believable because when Edmund ate the Turkish delight I thought of eating it too and when Edmund said, “May I please have some more Turkish delight?” I would want some more too.
Also, because when C.S. Lewis described the different places, like Narnia, I felt like I was really there in Narnia.
Something that was bad about the book was the amount of violence, like when the witch froze everyone in sight.
I don’t like too much violence in a book or movie because then I mostly think about blood and dying.
I wanted to read this story in one or two days because I wanted to see what happens next.
I would recommend
this book to some one who likes adventure, or action because this story has a lot of action and adventure in it and all the scenes have action or adventure it.
I read the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe several times and found it quite interesting and creative. Although the author's style of writing isn't my absolute favorite, I still think this is a cool book because it contains many hidden messages and also connects to several biblical themes. The character connections are interesting and I think the author did a great job of character development.
