In the book, Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, by Rick Riordan, Percy Jackson finds out that he is half god, and half human. Percy has always been different from other people while growing up. When he finds out who he really his, everything makes sense. Now that he is older he is more in danger than ever. And the only the only safe place is a camp made for demi-gods. When he is there the whole country is in trouble because there is going to be a war between the gods. And the only person that can solve the problem that is causing the argument is Percy Jackson. So Percy Jackson and his friends set out on a dangerous quest to save the world. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page. The book really makes you think about the present day world. They do a very good job proving the point that the gods are still real. It makes you feel like you are right there with the character. The only bad part of the book is that it ends too fast and you wish it would just go on. This book automatically hooks the reader. The author begins by warning\, "If you're a normal kid, reading this because you think it's fiction, great. Read on. I envy you for being able to believe that none of this ever happened. But if you recognize yourself in these pages - if you feel something stirring inside - stop reading immediately. You might be one of us. And once you know that, it's only a matter of time before they sense it too, and they'll come for you. Don't say I didn't warn you" (1). The main characters are teens so it is easy for us to relate to them. The story also takes place all of the United States so we sometimes know where they are and understand it. This book is recommended for people of all ages that enjoy action-adventure-fantasy books.
This my second favorite series of all time, behind the Harry Potter series. I have read and reread all of the books. Great review and you should definitely read the rest of the series, they are amazing. I LOVE PERCY JACKSON!!
