Maze Runner

In “Maze Runner” by James Dashner, Thomas the main character wakes up one day in an elevator. Traveling upward when he reaches the top he is greeted by 40+ teenage boys he is welcomed to this new place the “Glade”. Throughout the story you learn more and more about this place and Thomas meets a boy Chuck who he promises to help escape. The Glade is a circular very large Vatican city sized courtyard where in it is the homestead where people are given medical help and other things. The Slammer where people are locked up. Also Frypan’s kitchen there are other building that are not as important. Now for the maze and the walls itself there are four opening’s in the large walls that lead to the outside of the maze. At night the walls close protecting the “Gladers” from the Grievers. The Grievers are half robotic half creature monsters. That live in the maze and that will attempt to kill all the Gladers. Everyone in the glade is assigned a job that they must do to keep the glade running. When Thomas arrives he has a feeling that he must be a Runner (the people that run the maze and return later in the night to write down everything they remember). But when Theresa triggers “The Ending” Thomas and the other Gladers need to find a way out of the impossible maze. This story will keep you reading chapter after chapter. It is a fast paced book that will keep anyone who likes action stories reading endlessly. At times the usage of the slang words “Come on , Greenie” or “ let this half shank be a warning to all”. The characters are very believable and you can Imagine yourself in their position to some extent. In all it is a great story that i recommend to all.

  9. I just started this book today, it's pretty good...but the writing, in my opinion, is kind of elementary--it reminds me of high school writing vs. professional writing
...But it might get better later on, so I'll just continue reading :)
