The Son of Neptune is an intriguing story filled with action and adventure. If you liked the first book, The Lost Hero, you will love the Son of Neptune. Percy has been lost for eight months now, not being able to remember anything from his past. He eventually finds a new home, Camp Jupiter, a camp for demi-gods in their Roman form. The kids at Camp Jupiter warmly accept him, but they are also tentative. A quest is soon brought up to seal the doors of death, so Percy and his new friends, Frank and Hazel, are brought up to the task to stop dead souls coming back to life, as Mars exclaimed, “ ‘I order a quest!’ the god announced. ‘You will go north and find Thanatos in the land beyond the gods.’ ” Throughout the book, the friends run into many problems, but they manage to beat their enemies and work their way up to their goal. Many secrets are kept from others in this book and many surprises are to be found. I think this is one of the best books I ever read, and I am looking forward to reading the next one. There was one issue I found in the book, and that was the ending. I did not like the cliffhanger at the end because it left me feeling very anxious to read the next one.

This sounds like an interesting book that is great for passing the time.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a nice book. Books with cliffhangers are always interesting.
ReplyDeleteReally intersting book and I can't wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteI really want to read this book because I read book one in this series!
ReplyDeleteThis book sounds really good and I can't wait to read it! I liked the original Percy Jackson series.
ReplyDeleteI've read Rick Riordan's other books, and I enjoyed them thoroughly. I definitely must read this book. I hope it's as good as his other books. It sounds so different and suspenseful! Great job.
ReplyDeleteReally want to read this. Loved the Percy Jackson series, and I loved the Lost Hero. Read the first chapter of this on a preview, and the only problem i had was that percy wasn't in first person. i missed the sarcastic commentary and his sweet awkwardness. i know rick riordan had to do that in order to write from three people's perspective, but it still made me sad not to have that first hand look at everything that happened. great characters, though.
ReplyDeleteSomebody in my period wrote a book review on the first book. And I wanted to read that book. And when I saw this I now want to read this book and the other book.
ReplyDeleteI got this a few days after it came out and I couldn't put it down! I really think that this book was one of his best. However, one thing that I really love and hate about this series is the POV changing. I find it annoying when Riordan finishes a chapter with a cliffhanger and then changes POV to another character. Other than that, I enjoy this series and can't wait for the next book to come out.
